Halloween sadism is an urban legend that has instilled fear in many each year as spooky season rolls around. For decades, every October, there would be concerns of candy being tampered with - whether it would be with poison or whether it be with things like razors and needles. But after the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) released a warning against a colourful new drug called Rainbow Fentanyl, many soon feared that this would be the new thing to worry about for children trick-or-treating this year. But was this new drug a concern people should’ve been worried about regarding Halloween? Or, was this hiding an even deeper problem of the opioid crisis affecting communities both in the States and worldwide today?
