Here we have a double feature on the claim, “Abortion in the third trimester should be legal.” These conversations took place at Dartmouth College on May 4, 2022.

In the first conversation, participants clustered at the “disagree” end of the Likert scale; in the second, they were in the opposite position. For this epistemological activity, it’s often more interesting when participants in a conversation start with more diverse perspectives. Yet, we see here the value of people with similar perspectives having a more nuanced interaction about their positions.

Many thanks to Street Epistemologist Mark Solomon () for playing devil's advocate in the second conversation.
