David Seymour is New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister. He's a member of the @ACTNewZealand party, is a Hayekian libertarian with actual power, and he has used it.
The two things people thank David for the most are legalizing a thoughtful, humane euthanasia law and bringing back pseudoephedrine. Peter Boghossian digs into why New Zealand's assisted dying law works while Canada's has become a cautionary tale, why government housing guarantees you own nothing and fixes nothing, and why democracy itself is structurally designed to fail. This is a rare, candid conversation with a really smart, "based" politician who governs from first principles.
At the end of this conversation Reid turned to Peter Boghossian and asked, "Why can't the US have politicians like David?", to which Peter replied, "Agreed, we need him. Too bad he was born in New Zealand and not the US, or he could run for President."
