8:49Now PlayingGender ideology is a vague set of ideas that include the belief someone can be "born in the wrong body" or that gender is socially constructed. If that is the case, then doesn't it follow that gender identity will be deeply influenced by social media? And aside from the fact that beliefs like "being born in the wrong body" is a religious metaphysical claim that has no grounding in reality, there is a dehumanizing aspect to it that many trans people reject. Gender dysphoria is a form of body dysmorphia, and instead of pretending that it is not, we can create space for people confused individuals by acknowledging biological realties and still recognizing that people who fall out of the gender norm still have a place in society.
