It's odd being in Lviv. Mostly untouched by war.

Yes, we get air raid sirens and that reminds us we're in a warzone. And the sadness of seeing the many thousands of displaced people is heartbreaking. Thankfully, there are those here putting smiles back on little one's faces and letting them be children again, if only for a moment.

And the people harken back to the legacy of the warrior castes of the Cossacks. So integral to the national identity of Ukrainians. Of all ethnicities. Something Russia has always tried to crush.

And on a Spring day there is purpose in letting yourself find joy in the simple defiant act of living. And that's what many are doing here.

Always aware, however, that outside this bubble there is suffering. It is never far from our minds. Even when we indulge ourselves in the comparative peace.

Still, that question is always there: for how long?

Also, like all around Ukraine there is music. Always there is music.
