Prof Winston tells Piers the difference lies in male and female chromosomes, as male chromosomes are made up of x and y whereas female are just x chromosomes. He goes on to explain that even by "mutilating" yourself and changing your sexual organs you cannot change the male or female genes in every single cell that makes up your body (and there's around 8 trillion of them!).
Piers then asks TalkTV contributor Esther Krakue if she is satisfied with this definition and she says she is, adding that it "pains" her that we are still having the conversation because "cavemen knew this" but we are struggling.
