as posted by the channelDuring my exploration in the fertile Calango River Valley of southern Peru, I encountered a local tending to his crops who pointed me toward petroglyphs on large stones along the river. As I searched for these ancient symbols, I stumbled upon stunning views and some unexpected ruins, but it wasn’t until I checked Google Earth that I found a massive boulder covered in intricate petroglyphs, including designs of animals, humanoid figures, and potentially celestial symbols like stars and a comet. Locals shared their belief that some of these symbols may represent extraterrestrial phenomena, a topic many in the region are passionate about. Interestingly, I discovered a geometric pattern among the petroglyphs here, identical to one found over 11 hours away at the Chimu site of Chan Chan. This connection raises more questions about the cultural ties between these distant regions.
