YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIf you were a dependent on an asylum application filed by your spouse or parent and that case received a final denial, there are two key things you need to know. ⚖️ First, the principal applicant — your spouse or parent — can actually apply again if they want. It’s possible to file a new asylum application with USCIS even after a final denial. Second, it’s not always clear whether you can still be listed as a dependent in that new application if you’ve already turned 21. And if you’re now married, you definitely cannot be a dependent in that new case. 💼 The safest approach is usually for you to file your own asylum application as the principal applicant. But that can get complicated because of the one-year filing deadline. Remember, there are exceptions — and some people in your situation may qualify for one. You should talk to an asylum lawyer right away, because timing can be critical. If you’d like to schedule a consultation with my team, visit winasylum.com. 🌎
