Mandamus lawsuits continue to be an effective way to move stalled asylum cases forward by forcing USCIS to schedule an interview. ⚖️ This remains true despite the current pause on issuing asylum decisions. We are still getting interviews scheduled through mandamus lawsuits, even during the pause. ⏳ This is critical because the sooner you get your interview, the better your chances for success. I truly believe this based on my 11 years working for the government in two main agencies focused on asylum and refugee matters, plus nearly six years running a law firm focused exclusively on asylum. 🎯 It’s still unclear whether mandamus lawsuits will also force a decision after these interviews. ⚠️ We think there are strong legal arguments in favor of this, but it hasn’t been fully tested yet. We are actively litigating this issue in federal court right now. 🏛️ We should have a much better sense in the coming weeks of where this is headed.
