The government built a website to convince you that the people it’s arresting are the most dangerous criminals in America, and that website was full of lies. 🚨 A recent CNN article explains that the Department of Homeland Security admitted its “Worst of the worst” immigration website was riddled with errors, and only corrected those errors after CNN began asking questions. DHS launched the site in December, listing around twenty-five thousand arrested immigrants alongside descriptions of their alleged crimes. The White House, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, and DHS itself promoted it heavily on social media to justify an aggressive immigration crackdown. But a CNN analysis found hundreds of people listed for minor offenses — things like traffic violations, marijuana possession, or illegal re-entry — placed alongside individuals charged with serious crimes like homicide and sex crimes, as if their cases were morally equivalent. 🔍 DHS blamed the inaccuracies on a glitch, but critics, including a former acting ICE director from the Obama administration, say the problem runs deeper than a simple technical error. The reality is that most immigrants being arrested are not violent criminals, and they never were. The administration is manufacturing a crisis by inflating numbers, mislabeling offenses, and taking credit for arrests that local law enforcement already made. For asylum seekers and immigrant families, this is not an abstract debate about data. ⚖️ This is a government using false information to justify tearing people from their homes, from their children, and their futures. Minnesota officials have called it propaganda designed to stoke fear rather than inform the public. The “Worst of the worst” website was not an accident — it was a propaganda operation, and the only reason it changed was because journalists forced it to.
