ICE agents are now inside U.S. airports, and if you don’t have lawful immigration status, this is something you need to understand. 🚨 During the partial government shutdown, many TSA officers stopped showing up or quit because they were being forced to work without pay. The administration responded by sending ICE agents to airports to help fill the staffing gap. But the president also said those agents would look for undocumented immigrants to arrest while they are there. Even inside the government, officials cannot agree on what ICE agents are actually supposed to do. One official said they will only handle non-security tasks like guarding exits. Another suggested they could operate screening machines—something ICE agents are not trained to do. The TSA union has already warned that immigration agents do not have aviation security training and that putting them in airports is a dangerous escalation. For immigrants and asylum seekers, the risk is obvious. Airports are federal spaces, and any contact with federal agents can expose someone without lawful status to immigration enforcement. A pending asylum case does not automatically give you legal immigration status. That means even routine travel inside the United States can create serious risks. Right now, protecting your case may mean avoiding unnecessary encounters with federal authorities. Taking fewer risks today can protect your freedom and your future. ⚖️ I’m Brian Manning. If you need help with an asylum case, send the word “CONSULT” in a direct message.
