Two immigration judges just lost their jobs after ruling in favor of immigrants 🚨 They dismissed deportation cases against students who had spoken out on political issues, finding no legal basis for removal. One judge was even notified of her firing by email while conducting an asylum hearing ⚖️ Both had ruled that the government did not have grounds to deport the individuals in front of them. More than 100 immigration judges have now been removed and replaced with over 140 new ones aligned with this enforcement agenda 💼 At the same time, asylum approval rates have dropped to their lowest levels in over a decade. Immigration judges work under the Department of Justice, not an independent court system 📢 That means they can be hired and fired by the attorney general.
