Brittany Packnett Cunningham's Vision For Policing and Justice in America | FULL Interview

Jill Wine-Banks and Victor Shi welcome Brittany Packnett Cunningham on the newest iGen Politics Episode. Brittany is the perfect guest to talk about the state of race in America, what laws need to be enacted to ensure racial justice and equality, the calls to reimagine policing in America, and her role and that of other and that of other young people in the Black Lives Matter movement.

Brittany Packnett Cunningham is one of the most prominent and well-known voices in the fight for racial justice. Currently, Brittany is an NBC and MSNBC Contributor, host of Undistracted, a news and justice podcast with an intersectional lens on the world, and the Founder and Principal of Love and Power Works, a social impact firm focused on creating justice and equity in every sector. Previously, Brittany was Executive Director for Teach For America in St Louis, founded Campaign Zero, a policy platform designed to end police violence, was a leader of the Ferguson protest against the shooting of Michael Brown, and a member of the Ferguson Commission and President Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing. At the conclusion of that Task Force’s work, President Obama wrote a note to Brittany, saying she is a leader whose “voice is going to be making a difference for years to come” so we are honored and grateful to have her with us today. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in African and American studies at Washington University in St. Louis and a master's degree in secondary education from American University and has a lifetime commitment to social justice.
