The Death of Fidel Perez, by Elizabeth Huergo
n Havana in 2003 the cry, "Fidel has fallen!" seemingly announces a second revolution. But though the fall at the center of Huergo's first novel is that of a young man, Fidel Pérez, the event shakes up several people who witness it. As the characters recall the past and try to anticipate the future, their stories intertwine for a haunting portrait of Cuba.
