as posted by the channel

In the first of a projected two-volume biography, Leader, Roehampton professor of English and author of The Life of Kingsley Amis, traces Bellow’s life from his early years in Quebec through his coming-of-age in Chicago, his first three marriages, and the publications of Dangling Man, The Adventures of Augie March, and Herzog. Throughout, Leader draws on Bellow’s correspondence and on his own interviews with Bellow’s friends, relatives, and acquaintances for a fresh perspective on this great writer and his work.
