Arguing that Obama has proceeded cautiously in the international arena, preferring to do too little rather than too much, Landler contrasts his guarded approach to the more interventionist style of Hillary Clinton. As Obama’s potential successor, Clinton would likely take a more aggressive stand on many international issues, Landler believes, and he draws on interviews, informal conversations, and anecdotes to profile the leaders as well as their political philosophies.
Landler is in conversation with Politics & Prose co-owner Lissa Muscatine, who served as Hillary Clinton's chief speechwriter in the State Department and the White House.
