Bushnell’s 1996 Sex and the City launched the hit HBO series and revolutionized attitudes to sex and dating. In her new book she continues her sharp and funny exploration of relationships by following the adventures of a group of women as they move into their fifties. Set between Manhattan’s Upper East Side and a weekend enclave she terms “The Village,” the narrative homes in on trends and types. Writing in her signature short, satirical takes, Bushnell shows what it’s like to go on Tinder dates as a fifty-something divorcée, investigates the “Unintended Cub Situation” of an older woman with a younger admirer, expertly documents Middle Age Madness, and updates her popular “The Bicycle Boys.”
