As a child Bliss wanted to be a writer, but pursued art history in college and worked for Christie’s when she graduated. Unsatisfied, she went back to square one and re-launched herself as a magazine writer. Now a successful freelancer specializing in profiles, Bliss has compiled the stories of more than sixty people who, like her, held on to their dreams and turned them into reality by changing careers midstream. Some got fed up with following the crowd and blazed their own trail, others reinvented themselves after personal difficulties, others decided life was too short not to do what they wanted, whether it was helping others, living a life of adventure, or just being their own boss. Bliss is in conversation with Tess Finnegan, a onetime federal trial attorney who now owns and runs Green Hydrangea Flowers.
