YouTube Description
as posted by the channelPeter Fritsch & Glenn Simpson discuss their book, "Crime in Progress", at Politics and Prose.
A former Wall Street Journal senior reporter and national security editor, respectively, Simpson and Fritsch founded Fusion GPS in 2010 to conduct open-source investigations. In 2015 they were hired to look into Trump’s finances, and as they sifted through the documents of bankruptcies and overseas projects, a recurrence of Russian names alerted them to a larger, more serious matter. Working with Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence agent, they compiled the evidence that became known as the Steele Dossier and launched the Mueller investigation. Telling the full story of Fusion’s work for the first time, Simpson and Fritsch add to the record their findings of Trump’s ties to organized crime and their account of how they unsuccessfully tried to raise alarms over Russia’s bid to sway the vote.
Glenn Simpson is the co-founder of Fusion GPS. He is a former senior reporter for The Wall Street Journal who has specialized in campaign finance, money laundering, tax evasion, terrorism finance, securities fraud, and political corruption. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his family.
