Michael Dobbs was born and educated in Britain, but he is now a U.S. citizen. He was a long-time reporter for The Washington Post, covering the collapse of communism as a foreign correspondent, and he has taught at Princeton, Georgetown, and the University of Michigan. He is the author of a Cold War trilogy that includes Down With Big Brother, One Minute to Midnight, and Six Months in 1945: he lives outside Washington, D.C.

Dobbs will be in conversation with Garrett M. Graff, a distinguished journalist and bestselling historian, covers politics, technology, and national security. He’s the founding director of The Aspen Institute’s cybersecurity and technology program, a contributor to WIRED and CNN, and previously edited both Washingtonian and POLITICO Magazine. Graff is the author of multiple books, including the #1 national bestseller The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11, as well as The Threat Matrix: Inside Robert Mueller’s FBI, and Raven Rock, about the government’s Cold War Doomsday plans. His next book will be published later this year: Watergate: A New History.
