Brian Selznick’s latest book, Kaleidoscope, adds to his collection of spellbinding middle grade novels. Spanning across space and time, two people join together again and again, described by Selznick “like bits of colored glass” turning and arranging themselves into chapters. The story delves into grief, loss, hope, and friendship giving readers an emotional journey through both words and pictures done by Selznick himself.
Brian Selznick is an author and artist, often blending words and pictures in his storytelling. He is the Caldecott Medal-winning creator of the #1 New York Times bestsellers The Invention of Hugo Cabret, adapted into Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning movie Hugo; and Wonderstruck, adapted into the eponymous movie by celebrated filmmaker Todd Haynes, with a screenplay by Selznick. His books The Marvels and Baby Monkey, Private Eye are also New York Times Bestsellers.
David Levithan is the author of many acclaimed YA novels, including Every Day, Boy Meets Boy, and Two Boys Kissing. His most recent novel is The Mysterious Disappearance of Aidan S. (as told to his brother). By day, he is a publisher and editorial director at Scholastic.
