as posted by the channel

In the 1960s, the US and the UK secretly agreed to displace the indigenous population of the Chagos Islands, an archipelago in the middle of the Indian ocean so that the Americans could build a military base.

After years of international pressure, foreign secretary David Lammy announced that the islands would be handed over to Mauritius, meaning the UK would give up its last African colony.

But many Chagossians feel they have been passed over once again and not included in the discussion of their homeland's future.
