8:37Now PlayingResidents of East London's Balfron Tower have been stranded in their flats for a week after the 28 storey building's lifts broke down.
A spokesperson from building management company Way of Life said:
"“Residents with disabilities have specific contingencies provided for in the evacuation plan, which was stood up as soon as the lifts went out of service.
“The interactions you’ve outlined to us are very disappointing and absolutely do not reflect the values and conduct to which we aspire as a business.
“We’ve been speaking with the resident directly and have apologised.
We’re investigating the incidents you describe and relevant members of staff have been removed temporarily from Balfron Tower.”
