The tension escalated when Aguilar confronted the Defense Secretary over the inadequate living conditions faced by deployed troops—rumours of soldiers sleeping on floors without proper facilities. Hegseth fired back, insisting these allegations are "disingenuous," and touts his own oversight of adequate housing, food, and water—though Aguilar disputed his assertions .
