Anti-racist activists gathered outside the Reform UK party conference in Birmingham to stage a powerful protest against Nigel Farage’s party and its policies. In this video, we speak to members of Stand Up To Racism and other campaigners who picketed the Reform UK conference, voicing their opposition to what they see as the dangerous, divisive ideology of Farage and his political movement.

Chanting, banners, and speeches outside the Birmingham venue highlighted the activists’ anger at Reform’s stance on immigration, asylum seekers, and multicultural Britain. Protesters argue that the party’s policies are rooted in scapegoating minorities, fuelling racism, and undermining social cohesion. They stress the need for solidarity across communities, warning that Reform UK’s politics of division threaten to drag mainstream debate further to the right.

The interviewees from Stand Up To Racism explain why they believe it’s essential to confront Reform UK wherever it organises, especially as Nigel Farage pushes his party to position itself as the main challenger to Labour and the Conservatives. They connect the rise of Reform UK to a broader wave of far-right populism across Europe and call on trade unions, community groups, and anti-racist activists to unite in resistance.

This video captures the voices of campaigners on the frontlines, shining a light on why anti-racist organising is more important than ever. From the chants outside the conference to the determination of those we spoke to, the protest in Birmingham sends a clear message: there is no place for hate in Britain’s politics.
