The US President dominated headlines again this week with a renewed campaign to win the Nobel Peace Prize, his reaction to being passed over in favour of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, the continued U.S. government shutdown, and his controversial decision to deploy the National Guard to Portland.
Watch the surreal scenes from Portland as anti-ICE demonstrators dressed as frogs were dispersed with tear gas, and Trump's cabinet scrambled to justify the actions as necessary to restore law and order. Stephen Miller even suggested the president had "plenary authority", before seeming to freeze on national television.
Meanwhile, as Donald Trump's plan for peace between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East begins, his public comments on the Nobel Committee’s decision reignited debate over his foreign policy record and international credibility.
