Over the last few months, scandals in Westminster have put pressure on the once AI Minister to step aside. So much so, that he resigned his ministerial role earlier this year.
During his time heading up Labour Together, the pro-Starmer think tank contracted APCO Worldwide to collect information on prominent journalists such as Paul Holden and The Times' Gabriel Pogrund. Both of whom were accused of having ties to Russia, and having to fight smears coming from the heart of the Labour Together project.
As Westminster hit fever pitch over the future of the Prime Minister, Simons decided to step down from his Makerfield seat, which so happens to house the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.
The move set tongues wagging across the country.
In a rare interview, Simons spoke to Ava the week before his constituency goes to the polls, and potentially change the future of Britain.
