11:09Now PlayingTrump says he will not sign a bipartisan housing bill unless the SAVE Act is passed first.
The bill passed the Senate 85–5 and had broad support in the House. It includes measures aimed at building more housing, reducing barriers for builders, limiting institutional investors buying up single-family homes, and converting vacant buildings into affordable housing.
Housing prices affect everybody—not just people trying to buy. When housing supply stays low, rents go up too.
So why is Trump threatening to block a housing affordability bill that Republicans and Democrats both supported? Because he wants the SAVE Act first.
This is not America First. This is holding housing relief hostage for political leverage.
