6:31:45Now PlayingProsecutors allege that in October 2019, Lori Vallow Daybell conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to kill Brandon Boudreaux, who was then the estranged husband of Lori’s niece, Melani Pawlowski. Cox drove a Jeep registered to Lori’s deceased husband, Charles Vallow, from Idaho to Arizona and shot at Boudreaux outside his home in Gilbert on October 2, 2019. Boudreaux was unharmed physically in the incident.
The motive, according to prosecutors, stemmed from the belief held by Lori, Chad Daybell (her fifth husband), and Cox that Boudreaux had a “dark” soul. This belief was part of their broader apocalyptic ideology, which played a central role in the series of crimes committed by the group.
