MARIO FERNANDEZ SALDANA TRIAL | DAY 2 | THE MURDER OF JARED BRIDEGAN
The trial of Mario Fernandez Saldana continues as prosecutors and the defense present their cases in the murder of Jared Bridegan, a father of four who was shot and killed in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on February 16, 2022.
Saldana, the estranged husband of Jared Bridegan’s ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, is accused of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony, and child abuse. He has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege that Bridegan’s killing was part of a murder-for-hire plot.

JARED BRIDEGAN CASE BACKGROUND:
Jared Bridegan was shot and killed in Jacksonville Beach after dropping off his twin children. His young daughter was in the vehicle when the shooting occurred. Prosecutors allege that the killing was a planned murder-for-hire. Henry Tenon, who was previously accused of carrying out the shooting, is also charged in the case and is no longer cooperating with prosecutors. Mario Fernandez Saldana is being tried separately from Shanna Gardner, Jared Bridegan’s ex-wife. Saldana’s trial is proceeding first, with Gardner’s trial scheduled to follow.
