YouTube Description
as posted by the channelChildhood trauma and adversity (ACE): the failure cascade, progression: splitting, dissociation, psychosis.
Dissociation is defense against trauma:
Forgetting the traumatic events (amnesia)
Denying external reality (derealization)
Boundary of self/world: denying one’s existence in the traumatic setting (depersonalization)
When dissociation fails, the only 2 other options:
Boundary of self/world: denying internal reality by externalizing it (dissociative internal voices psychosis, bizarre and nonbizarre delusions including paranoia, referential ideation, erotomania, and grandiosity, DID, narcissism, identity confusion, identity alteration, flashbacks) thus negating capacity to feel pain. These are all post-traumatic conditions, exactly like BPD.
Rejecting life (and afterlife for suicides) by becoming one with the world (eliminating boundary of self/world).
