In the English Wikipedia, there are only 500 active editors out of 50,000,000 users. It is no longer a “CROWDsourced” resource, but a closed, delusional, fantasy-prone cult, a shared fantasy.
Shocking admission by a top Wikipedian is representative of the ethos. Slp1“I tend to edit articles that take my fancy and have no connection to my professional and academic background.” Wikipedia "editor" slp1 ( ). And she is PROUD of it!
Wikipedia is a cult with cult leaders and arcane, obscure, deliberately obfuscating language and procedures, far more cumbersome than any university, research lab protocols, or peer-reviewed journal. Wikipedia has become an exclusionary and xenophobic in-group.
