Ever have a stuffy nose? This is called nasal congestion. What kinds of drugs can one take to alleviate this, and how do they work? These are called decongestants, and they function as adrenergic receptor agonists. These are receptors that are typically activated by adrenaline and noradrenaline, but drugs that are highly selective for a specific subtype of these receptors can show reasonable efficacy in reducing these unwanted symptoms. Let's get a closer look!
