Let's continue working our way through the parts of speech in Latin. With nouns covered, let's talk about verbs. The inflection for verbs, or conjugation, is very complicated, and dreaded by most students. But don't worry, we aren't going to go too crazy yet, let's just talk about the very basics: person, number, tense, mood, voice, and transitive/intransitive. Let's define these concepts now so that learning conjugations later will make more sense!

Script by Patrizia Farina, Professor of Italian at Western Connecticut State University and Purchase College.
