Every spring, millions of parents drag out their lawn chairs and crowd around dusty Little League fields to watch 6-year-old tee-ball. A little batter steps up to the plate, takes an all-out swing, and the ball barely plops off the end of the bat and wobbles weakly back toward the pitcher's mound. A comedy of errors follows, and somehow, impossibly, that kid ends up crossing home plate. He looks up at his parents with pure wonder and shouts, "That's the first home run I ever hit in my whole life!"

No, son, it wasn't. But God was still in it.
