Tamar Kintsurashvili is the executive director of the Media Development Foundation (MDF) and the editorinchief of factchecking online portal Myth Detector ( ) thirdparty partner of Facebook’s factchecking program and a verified signatory of the International FactChecking Network (IFCN) of the Poynter Institute.
Tamar runs media literacy programs for youngsters and teachers. She is a member of Deutsche Welle Akademie Media and Information Literacy Experts Network (MILEN) and the UNESCO MIL Alliance nomination committee.
Tamar is an author and co-author of numerous research papers and publications on anti-Western propaganda, Russian information warfare in Ukraine, Anti-Gender and Anti-LGBTQI Mobilization in Georgia, Infodemic, Kremlin Influence Index, media literacy and media self-regulation.
Prior to joining MDF, she served as a deputy secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia in 2010-2013. She was responsible for civil integration policy development. Previously, Kintsurashvili was the first elected general director of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (2005-2009) and deputy director of the CSO Liberty Institute (2002-2005).
Tamar Kintsurashvili is associate professor at Ilia State University. She received an MSc in policy studies from Edinburgh University and MA in journalism from Tbilisi State University.
