Dietmar Pichler is a disinformation analyst, media literacy trainer, and founder of the initiative "Disinfo Resilience Network". This initiative aims to connect experts from various fields, such as historians, political scientists, security experts, IT professionals, and journalists, to exchange information, network, and develop common strategies to counter foreign influence by hostile authoritarian countries. He was also part of the Federal Chancellery's task force against antisemitism.

He is an alumnus of the State Department Leadership program on Disinformation 2024. In February 2024, he was one of the panelists at the disinformation conference co-organized by the US State Department in Pristina. In 2023, he spoke at a panel discussion at the Austrian embassy in Kyiv, and in December 2022, he hosted the seminar "Impact of Russian Disinformation in the West" in Uzhorod, Ukraine.

His main fields of interest include:

- Agents of Influence, "useful idiots," pro-Russian organizations (NGOs), and their narratives

- "Subtle" propaganda

- "Information world war" (the authoritarian bloc, BRICS+ against the West)

- KGB active measures and their impact in the present - Russia is not only using old techniques but also benefiting from people influenced by Soviet propaganda before the Cold War ended (Western peace movement, "tankies," etc.)
