In today’s episode our guest is Runjhun Sharma, Head of News at RT India. We discuss why Western media still loves to show India through a poverty-lens and how that narrative benefits global geopolitics. She explains the deeper mindset behind Western hegemony, why a rising India makes several power centres uncomfortable, and how shifts in Nepal, Bangladesh, BRICS expansion, and de-dollarization signal a global rebalancing that the West isn’t ready for.
She also calls out the hypocrisy within Western systems from selective outrage, racism faced by Indians abroad, to how the Gaza genocide was covered. She also compares G7’s stagnation with BRICS’ massive population, growth and influence, and questions who really ‘decides’ truth in the media when platforms like RT are banned while Western journalists freely attend Putin’s press conferences.
In the last segment, Runjhun talks about India-Russia ties beyond Modi-Putin, the trust built since the Soviet era, and why Putin is viewed as an astute leader inside Russia despite Western portrayals. She explains how sanctions didn’t work the way the West expected largely because of India and discusses nationalism, immigration, and why multi-polarity is the only real check on global monopoly. A deep, sharp conversation on global narratives and who controls them.
