This is why Christians are no longer to follow or observe the feasts of the Mosaic Law and Covenant. This is the true meaning of the "The Moon Shall Be Turned to Blood" prophecy (and the "Red Moon," the Lunar Eclipse). In Genesis 1, the Sun and the Moon are rulers. The Sun rules the Day, the Moon rules the night. Israel's feasts were measured by the moon, the lunar calendar. They were under the governance of the moon. The Moon symbolizes the Mosaic Covenant, the Temple system. The entire Old Testament took place in the night, in the "evening," until Christ "the sun of righteousness rises" (Malachi 4:2) and brings the Day. Remember, in Genesis 1 the day begins with evening, and then moves to morning. We are no longer under the governance of the moon, but the sun (Christ, and the New Covenant). When Peter preached at Pentecost, the birth of the New Temple (the Church) was eclipsing the Sun and the Moon (both solar and lunar eclipses, the passing away of the first creation). Peter did not say the signs in the heavens in Joel 2 were to come at a later time, but that the outpouring of the Spirit WAS the fulfillment of the overturning of the heavenly powers (both Jew and Gentile governance bowing before the enthronement of Christ and his new Eve, the Church, his people, both Jew and Gentile). He identified Pentecost as the "last days" spoken of by Joel. The last days of what? The old creation. The old covenant. Therefore the Moon (the Temple covenant) was under judgment (covered with blood) for 40 years until it was destroyed in 70 A.D. Israel had 40 years to transition out of the old covenant system into Christ before judgment fell on the Old Creation, the Old System, to make room for the New Creation, the New Covenant, which had dawned and has since been rising until it reaches full Day.
