Male circumcision is an extremely controversial subject that’s close to my heart, because if it wasn’t for my father refusing to sign a few papers (despite my mother and family demanding that he must), I wouldn’t have foreskin today. It’s a long story, and not one for the description of a video, but I was nearly one of the millions of victims of circumcision, and so ever since the inception of this channel I knew that I’d one day take the topic, and now I have.
In Europe, male circumcision is largely viewed as a cruel and unjustifiable mutilation of a baby’s genitalia, and a result, it’s rarely practiced. In fact, in Denmark, less than 2% are circumcised (seriously, 98% are intact)!
But in the U.S, over 50% are circumcised, and many of them (perhaps including yourself) falsely view it as a ‘surgical vaccine’, claiming that it’s a necessary protection against HIV, penile cancer, and so on… but I assure you my friends, these claims do not withstand rationality – they’re false and fallacious, and I’m going to prove it to you… but not in this video. Instead, I’m going to prove it to you on the channel Counter Arguments (linked to above).
Before that, I just want to quickly explain what Counter Arguments is all about, and I want to personally recommend a few of their outstanding videos. In short, it’s a channel that challenges and counters arguments, such as, ‘Atheists Have No Morals’, ‘Black People Can’t Be Racist’, and ‘America Is A Christian Nation’. It is, at least in my opinion, one of the best channels on YouTube, and it’s one of my all-time biggest inspirations – and so needless to say, this collaboration has been a true honour.
Anyhow, without further ado, here’s the link again I’ll catch you there my fellow apes!
