4:37Now PlayingI'm currently in the process of finishing up the Civil War in my 8th grade US history class. No matter how many times I teach the material, I am always amazed by the run that Robert E. Lee and his Army of Northern Virginia went on up to Gettysburg. Abraham Lincoln sent Yankee commander after Yankee commander into the fray to battle Lee and Jackson and each one of them were sent packing by the Rebels. This song, written prior to Lee's stunning victory over Joe Hooker at Chancellorsville in May of 1863 shows the confidence and pride Lee's men carried into battle that day. It is a humorous song that documents the frustrations that the Yankee army must have been experiencing during the Confederate high tide. The song is performed by Bobby Horton and it is available for purchase by using the following link
