In the 1880s she convinced several well-known businessmen to fund her idea of a luxury brothel in Pioneer Square and she soon became one of the city's richest residents. In 1889, her building burned down in the Great Seattle Fire, but she had enough money to build an even bigger and better building. During the Panic of 1893 Graham stepped up again, saving Puget National Bank, issuing loans to families, subsidizing the construction of a battleship and donating money to schools. #Seattle #history #historyfacts #historytime
