I and two other peace activists, Tamara Lorincz and Yves Engler, were in attendance and disrupted Mr. Rae's speech to draw attention to some inconvenient facts. I reminded the audience that Canada lavishly supports Israel, which is almost universally acknowledged by leading human rights organizations in the West to be an apartheid state.
