28:37Now PlayingSince 2021, Dimitri Lascaris has been a partner in the Toronto law firm of Kalloghlian Myers LLP, which specializes in representing plaintiffs in class actions.
In this video, Lascaris announces that, for reasons relating to his advocacy for Palestinian rights, he has decided to withdraw from the Kalloghlian Myers partnership.
As he explains, since Israel's genocidal rampage in Palestine began, the law firm has been bombarded with slanderous complaints by supporters of Israel.
In the course of explaining his decision, Lascaris also comments on the abject failure of Canada's most prominent and affluent lawyers to oppose Canada's support for Israel's genocidal regime.
Lascaris also discusses the unwillingness of highly compensated lawyers to devote significant time to pro bono legal work for the many Canadians who cannot afford legal representation.
Finally, Lascaris offers a critique of the notion that lawyers should be mandated to regulate themselves.
