Venezuela Has A ‘New King’: His Name Is Donald Trump

In late January, less than one month after the Trump regime kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez singed into law a major reform of Venezuela’s massive hydrocarbons industry.

The new law paves the way for U.S. oil companies to establish and control new oil operations in the Bolivarian Republic.

To investigate the likely impacts of this new law, Dimitri Lascaris spoke to two experts in the Venezuelan oil industry, one who praises the new law and one who condemns it.

In this episode, Dimitri speaks with Professor Carlos Mendoza Pottellá, a petroleum economist at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. The professor is a former leftist revolutionary who was imprisoned for his revolutionary activities and who later served as a Venezuelan diplomat.

In his discussion with Dimitri, the Professor condemns Venezuela’s new hydrocarbons law as a return to colonialism and a surrender of Venezuelan sovereignty to the country’s “new king”, Donald Trump.
