After the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, 2026, Iran struck U.S. military and CIA facilities in Saudi Arabia. So far, despite these attacks, Pakistan has refrained from entering the war.
Meanwhile, Shia Muslims, who constitute approximately 20% of Pakistan's population, protested in outrage at the murder of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Those protests turned deadly, with more than 30 persons killed by Pakistani security forces.
