54:58Now PlayingIt’s a year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and folks, nobody can deny the sheer horror of the consequences of war; between 80,000 and 100,000 Ukrainians are estimated to have died or been wounded so far, along with 180,000 Russians.
Nobody can verify these figures, they are a question mark at best, but the freshly dug graves and photographs of bereaved families portray a nation under siege, with millions fleeing their homes and the numbers of volunteers to recruitment centres in the country becoming less of a flood and more of a trickle.
It's quite clear to any observer of events over recent years that the West, NATO, the EU, you name it, the world massively underestimated Russian President Bad Vlad, after an attack on Georgia, the annexation of Crimea, unmarked troops in east Ukraine and of course the use of chemical weapons in Britain, in Salisbury to be precise, we seem to have collectively refused to acknowledge what Putin was capable of.
But many folks disagree with these sentiments and argue that actually NATO and EU expansion have been the main driver of Putin’s action in Ukraine. Many wildly popular conservative commentators like Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk and our very own Nigel Farage have challenged the consensus on Ukraine with arguments that make sense to many.
