as posted by the channelA caller claiming to be Lee Anderson’s son, Charlie, was able to get through call screeners at LBC and talk to show host Rachel Johnson, making a range of false accusations against the working class Conservative MP.
Reasoned contributor Sarah Anntoinette condemned LBC for failing to make sure their guest was who he said he was, saying: “LBC should apologise publicly to Lee Anderson for this. We can call it a hoax or a prank, but this can be very damaging to a person’s reputation. It’s very unjust and shouldn’t have been allowed to happen. LBC should be ashamed of themselves for this!”
Responding to the hoax, Lee Anderson posted on X: “To be clear this is a vile hoax and a slur on my family. For clarity I do have a son called Charlie but he is 33 and not 23 as the male says in this clip. The voice is a completely different accent to my sons. The person who has made this hoax call is sick. I shall be reporting this to the police and so should LBC.”
“It's simply beyond words,” he later added.
