MPs and Jewish leaders have condemned former footballer and BBC Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker for retweeting a post on Twitter/X calling for Israel to be banned from all global football matches.

“Why can’t Gary Lineker stick to what he’s supposed to do, which is comment on football? Last time I checked, he’s not an MP, he’s not a political commentator. He’s not being paid to spout his biased, ignorant politics to the British public,” Reasoned contributor Sarah Anntoinette said.
