Mohammed Fahir Amaaz was convicted of assaulting two female police officers and a member of the public, while the wider Manchester Airport case has sparked national anger after two juries failed to reach verdicts on another allegation and no third trial will take place.
Meanwhile, Nigel Farage was referred to the Attorney General after criticising the case as an example of “two-tier justice” — but no contempt proceedings were issued.
We also look at the horrifying case of Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old student stabbed to death in Southampton by Vickrum Digwa. Henry was reportedly handcuffed by police as he lay dying after his killer falsely accused him of racism. Hampshire Police have apologised and the IOPC is investigating.
Zia Yusuf has caused a political storm by saying: “White people are now demonstrably the biggest victims of racism in Britain.” Is he right? Has Britain’s establishment become blind to racism, prejudice and injustice when the victims are white? Has the accusation of “racism” become so powerful that it can override evidence, common sense and even the sight of a dying victim?
